SUMMARY:South Hams H4 Hash 1467 - The Ham Car Park
DESCRIPTION:On Down is at the Ferry Boat Inn (click for location)\nMenu inc
ludes 9” margarita for £10. Pub’s new fryers may not be up and runnin
 g. Order food in advance call 01803 722368 or email: simonfbi@hotmail.com.
Food can be ordered on the night\, with a wait\, menu below\n\nThe Words
according to DIRTY NIGHTS\nHash 1467 - DITTISHAM\n\nOver the sea. Over the
land. Over the bumpy waves. On a hot\, spring day.\n\nIf Carling did hash
es\, this would be up there as one of the most beautiful. Dittisham did no
t disappoint\, with views of the estuary in the glistening evening sun\, a
nd laid by the wonderful and kind (Ed. What did you do\, Dirty Nights...?)
Ching Chong and Can't Come. Hashers were treated to a calm evening\, whic
h obviously didn't last long\, it being a hash and all.\n\nThere was no sh
ortage of hills\, which caused a distressed Blown Off to announce on the f
irst ascent that 'they get right up your bum'. No one is sure what he was
referring to\, being in polite company. Most hashers were clearly without
the need for head-torches–now that the days are getting longer–unless
they were Olive\, whom was grateful to not be so careless and discard hers
so early: a head-torch comes in very useful\, running through a shady del
l with sunglasses on.\n\nThe quirky village of Capton provided amusing com
petition to hashers keen to compare and contrast their features against ar
ty statues. This upset Shaggy so much that she took a detour the wrong way
out of the village and only returned to the trail when the nonsense had s
topped (Ed. does it ever?).\n\nSafety first this week (as always\, surely)
as Rubbery took to heart the phrase 'drink beer\, save water' to protect
the hashers from the neighbouring outbreak of cryptosporidium (Ed. a merci
fully H2O-free Beer Stop. In fact\, some of the youngest hashers conscient
iously availed themselves of several 'doses' of the Limoncello on offer–
purely to neutralise the effects of any stray water-borne contaminants the
y may have mistakenly ingested\, of course.)\n\nBack at the Ferry Boat Inn
after some terrible jokes by the joyous Overshot\, whom was delighted tha
t he had an excuse to wear his Lord Admiral hat\, conversations turned to
the naming of a hasher. It was observed that he had a distinctive 'HH' log
o on his running attire\, which took no prompting from Rusty Bottom to pro
claim he should be called 'Hot and Horny'!\n\nDown downs were awarded to:\
 n• Hares Can't Come and Ching Chong\n• birthday-girl Lactaster\n• Sp
 unky\, a visiting hasher from Zurich\n• Shaggy - wrong turns (various)\n
 • Live Wire - upcoming birthday (Sunday?)\n• Newly-named Hot and Horny
 .\nOn on.\nDirty Nights\nON ON to SHIPLEY BRIDGE (again)\n________________
