SUMMARY:South Hams H4 Hash 1541 - Fortescue Arms
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Words accordin
 g to LAZY GIT\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\
 n\n🌟 👣  🌟\n\nHASH 1541 - EAST ALLINGTON\nWe circled up outside
the pub to hear a litany of info from Doggy Style\, then eventually we set
off\, on an overcast but warm evening.\n\nWe hit a drink stop very early
on trail [Ed. speak for yourself\, Lazy Git! I think the other routes to t
his very welcome pit-stop were rather longer...] with a variety of refres
hments of a dubious nature - one looked like antifreeze! [Ed. Mmmm: unide
ntified super-strength alcohol: a delicious hash staple!]\n\nSuitably con
fused\, we went forth: I was soon confronted with a steep downhill\, whic
h I thought would guarantee a following steep uphill to follow\, but our k
ind hare\, Nice Buns\, assured me that it would be almost flat\, apart fro
m a little climb up to the pub at the finish. Naively\, I went on with thi
s encouragement. [Ed. Oh\, LG - how long have you been hashing?] Note to s
elf: trust your own judgement in future!\n\nThere was some confusion in th
e Plympton contingent about the meaning of three dots: does it mean go b
ack\, or go on? They didn't know if they were coming or going! [Ed. a(n ar
guably unintended) masterstroke that trapped the FRs of the FRBs in an imp
ossible loop in the deep\, dark wood for a moment or two...]\n\nMeanwhile
\, Olive found herself in a field of cows. Frightened to death\, she sped
up to a record-breaking 6mph\, still being chased by the cows\, but Underc
overs was on hand and "took her up the wrong way" [Ed. really\, LG - this
is a family publication!]. Let's hope that it wasn't a visit to the Oxo T
ower! In another field\, Lactaster was stung by a huge angry hornet\, stir
red up kindly by WGAS. [Ed. ouch. With a capital 'Oh!']\n\nGary and Nokker
s decided to avoid the bridge and followed a road to nowhere\, but Know Nu
ts bravely waded on through [Ed. There is no 'avoid' in hashing\, only 'e
ngage!'].  Whisperer was seen running strongly up a steep hill [Ed. compe
lled by the alluring scent of Stella on the night air\, it was posited by
some]\, but it turns out by the time he got back to the pub in the near da
rk his headtorch was all of one candlepower\; apparently it had not been c
harged since last used in March. Also arriving at the pub\, Rizzo couldn't
find the car key which had been placed on the wheel. She searched for age
s before realising that she was at the wrong car - early onset of dement
ia?\n\nThe general opinion was that the trail was much longer than advised
\, and followed an interesting route as seen on Strava - apparently laid
by an all-female hare group! Perhaps explains the shape... [Ed. the most
well-hung hash of the year.]\n\nGaffer was our esteemed RA. We sang happy
birthday to Fluffy Dice and Blown Off.\n\nDown downs went to the hares:\n\
n\n Rizzo\n Nice Buns\n Pimples\n And all their girls Va Va Voom\, Bus
h Spanker\, Pull the Udder\, etc\n Blown Off for his birthday [Ed. Fluf
fy\, equipped with prior warning of the traditional SH4 birthday song feat
. Overshot\, and with more delicate Plympton eardrums\, had already made
his escape.]\n\nOn On to ERMINGTON \n\nPhoto credit: Squashed Balls\n

gradient-generous East Allington hash on 20th August 2025 by checking out
  Hash Flash's purpose-built photo album on the SH4 Facebook page\, so I
wouldn't bother... (I think hashers were concentrating so hard on discerni

nce of locating a camera to capture proceedings [and all the photos may ha
 ve looked rather similar...].) 📸 🏃🍻\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n👣\nNext S
