SUMMARY:South Hams H4 Hash 1584 - Pig's Nose Inn
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Words accordin
 g to COWPAT\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\
 n🌟 👣  🌟\n\nHash 1584 - EAST PRAWLE\nA goodly number mustered on
The Green at East Prawle. Considering that the Slapton Line disaster mean
t that anyone not travelling through Kingsbridge had a meandering route th
rough narrow winding lanes\, it was  sterling effort to have so many.\n\n
Rubbery honked his horn to attract attention to his open flies (yet again\
, according to some harriettes)\, and to call to order (Ed. ever the shy
and retiring wallflower of the hash...).\n\nSquashed Balls dithered (Ed. a
little harsh? 😆) his way through the preliminaries before handing ove
r to the Hares\, Whisperer and Fobjockey.  They explained the route: 2.5
-mile Walk\, 4-mile Short 6-mile Long (Ed. ahh\, that old chestnut). With
a warning that on the Long there was a "boobytrap" wire on the beach\, s
o CARE was the word.\n\nThe evening was balmy. It was a good night to run
by the coast. I joined Yeuk\, Doggy Style\, Lactaster and family\, Nokker
s and Squashed Balls on the Short. I soon found myself bringing up the rea
r behind Lactaster and young James\, Megan and her friend Winnie. I was fa
scinated how these young girls could talk constantly without drawing breat
h.\n\nAt the top of a steep incline\, James and Lactaster realised they ha
d not seen marks. Oh dear!  I backtracked for a while but could find no f
lour\, then went back to join the others. After a short discussion\, we d
ecided to head along the road to the coast and hope to pick up the trail.
This we did\, found the marks and it was not long before Yeuk\, Nokkers
et al caught up with us.  OK\, we short-cutted: no rules in Hashing! (Ed
. no judgment here [and Gaffer\, for one\, would surely applaud such condu
ct!])\n\nCalamities gleaned over the course of the evening:\nLactaster had
dragged along her two children\, Megan and James and friend Winnie in ord
er to escape her poor husband\, who had had an emergency appendectomy ear
lier in the week. We wish him well and a quick recovery.\n\nNokkers was be
moaning that she had spent all day in court and had come home to find a ne
st of baby blue-tits in her garden. Parents nowhere to be seen. She shut
her pussycat indoors and left the problem to her husband when he came home
. (Ed. Too many options here... I just can't)\n\nGood Shag was sporting a
bandaged finger\, the result of rearranging the almonds in the blender whi
lst it was running! (Ed. some time ago - possibly the Stone Age - things
were invented ['utensils'?] to avoid having to use bodily extremities to\,
e.g.\, stir a boiling cooking pot\, or perform some other equally hazardo
us feat. This is still true today. Or you could turn the blender off for a
moment? Just suggestions...)\n\nBack at the pub - The Pig's Nose and The
Pig Shack for food:\n\nSquashed Balls once again took to the floor to sum
up the evening:\n\n\n Young James had tripped and fallen and hurt his kne
e\, so good ol' mum\, Lactaster\, carried him up the hill. James had also
competed in the East Allington Fun Run recently.  He is only six. (Ed. i
ncredible running for one so young! And I think he placed first in his a
ge category?)\n Badcock had not been paying attention at the start and ha
d fallen foul of the "boobytrap wire" and fell flat on his face.\n It was
generally agreed the views for the evening were stunning. Squashed Balls
waxed lyrical about the sight of Shaggy silhouetted against the skyline
whilst running effortlessly (Ed. you must have been very far away\, SB!) a
long the coast path.\n\nDown Downs were awarded to:\n\n\n Whisperer and F
objockey - Hares\n Coming Soon - cannibalism\, for eating ground almonds
and finger 🤢\n Badcock - for not paying attention at the start - nom
inated Keeps Tripping\n James - who was named Hard-core\n Shaggy - for
not falling over/'winning' the Longs (let's say that...😉)\n\n\nPhoto
