SUMMARY:South Hams H4 Hash 1585 (Bring your own beer) - The Stables (Woodle
 igh)
DESCRIPTION:Tonight is bring your own beer\, food is provided.\n&nbsp\;\n\n
 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Words according to BARBARELLA\n\n\n\
 n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n🌟 👣  🌟\
n\nHash 1585 - WOODLEIGH\nIt was Global Running Day and the first proper
week of summer\, although you could be forgiven for thinking it was April
what with the wind and drizzle. I rocked up wearing fleece-lined leggings\
, three tops and with a fully charged torch! AND I needed them all!\n\nC
ourt Farm was a bit tricky to find\, and along the way three members of t
he Ivybridge team bus learned that there were to be hot-dogs and that we h
ad to bring our own drinks.  Ahh. Fortunately\, I had a bottle of water.
 (I was a Brownie 😊) (Ed. Very sensible [and thirst-quenching] - althou
gh I'm not sure others finding themselves in the same position would have
felt quite so triumphant...)\n\nThere was a good crowd for what was\, in s
pite of the wind and drizzle\, a super hash.  The trail was nearly all of
f road through fields\, woods and crossing a shallow stream where Hot Pant
s\, Lowt'arse and I took the sensible option and used the handy bridge (Ed
. sensible\, perhaps\, but not the market trail...and not the hashing way
... 😂).\n\nThe Beer Stop had colour-co-ordinated sweets and drinks (Ed
. in the most wholesome and natural shade of day-glow turquoise...). Gomez
was seen tucking in to the blue sweets and WGAS hoovered up the left over
s back at the On-Down.\n\nThere were some reports of dubious behaviour. (E
 d. we should expect nothing less!) Overshot had apparently done a recce o
f the route earlier in the week. WGAS was seen offering nettles to passing
hashers claiming that they don’t sting at this time of year (Ed. compen
sating for an absent Wetspot again...). However\, he redeemed himself by w
restling with a cow which was a more effective tactic than Gomez who waved
a Harry Potter wand at it (Ed. obviously not J. K. Rowling fans...).  No
t sure what the poor animal was doing to deserve such treatment.  He may
be a Veteran Hasher but Goolie managed to forget to bring a change of shoe
s and then complained that the hash was too muddy.  Gaffer had broken a f
ence some years ago and noted that it still hasn’t been mended.  Why wa
s he bringing the hash into disrepute by breaking fences? Overshot pushed
Rizzo into Lactaster. Some people never grow up.\n\nThere were cases of at
hletic prowess on the hash. Following his half-marathon achievement Pugsl
ey pushed himself hard and managed to keep up with Shaggy (Ed. well\, he i
s [marginally] more youthful 😆)  . Martin the Virgin made the FRBs
look silly and was declared to be ‘far too quick’ (Ed. that's an auto
matic ban). Overshot is still running well in spite of his advancing age (
Ed. and nothing to do with short-cutting/running other hashers off the tra
il/rampant cheating... 😘).\n\nBack at the farm hungry hashers tucked in
to hot dogs\, although Squashed Balls complained at the absence of mustard
and fried onions.  There’s no pleasing some folk!  There was also an
excellent Victoria Sponge cake (Ed. the fluffiest and most delicious of Vi
cky Sponges\, baked by Mr. Good Head no less) –  unlike SB\, I am easi
ly pleased.\n\nThanks were given to Good Head and De-Briefed for a great h
ash.\n\nDown downs went to:\n\n\n Good Head and Debriefed - Hares\n Mart
in\, Liz and Penny - Virgins\n WGAS – for handing out stingers\n Overs
 hot – Birthday Boy\n\n\n\nPhoto credit: Good Head\n🏃 📸 🍻 You
