HASH 1554 – SHIPLEY BRIDGE

Well it was nice to be back, normal service was resumed, almost like I hadn’t been away. Although everyone did look six months older.

Some things never change. Whisperer was still confused, Olive was still losing her way to the pub at 10pm and Overshot still can’t catch me.

I have been absent entirely due to Jyde, he introduced me to this wonderful world of hydrofoiling, so running has taken a back seat. I did spot we were at South Brent a few weeks back, but the hash was accompanied by the dreaded AGPU, so I had a cup of tea at home instead.

Congratulations to the Plympton takeover of SH4, an excellent husband/wife combo who I can already see are serving us well.

The Hash itself was not too eventful. The snow held off, the wind dropped and the cold remained. The problem with knowing exactly where you are at all times is that you try and second guess the checks according to the trail you would have laid yourself – which is the exact opposite to where the Hares had gone. So I had some good sprint sessions trying to catch back up.

The pub was as welcoming and cosy as ever, great food and cake on offer. Squash Balls managed to locate a podadom (great hash name there for someone surely) for his note taking.

Overshot found a Swindon roundabout (his words) of checks, which all contradicted each other.

Whisperer was spotted running back to the OH down a road which had nothing to do with the hash.

Boaty was caught staring at Overshot’s arse, very pert I’m sure, apparently admiring his new running tights.

Olive led Undercovers astray (or maybe it was the other way around) and they were collected about 2 miles away from the OH by some hash heroes returning to the pub. For some reason Undercovers got the down down instead of the heroes!

Vindaloo and Gaffer had birthdays. Gaffer treated himself to yet another Lotus for his museum.

Down Downs went to:

• Hares – Badcock and Keeps Tripping
• Vindaloo – Birthday
• Gaffer – Birthday
• Boaty – mortally wounded
• Undercovers – playing hunt the Olive
