Hash 1581 – MODBURY
After a long day of fencing on the farm it was nice to be out hashing in Modbury [Ed. yes, I imagine a little jaunt around the hills of Modbury came as a welcome reprieve from all that parrying… 🤺], which was laid by the heroes, Undercovers and Nokkers [Ed. heroes indeed 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️👏], who kindly stepped in to lay the hash at short notice after the original hares cancelled (and no I’m not going to name them!).

We set off on what was to be a fast hash around Modbury, passing through fields of sheep and lambs, where Lowt’arse was seen disturbing the lambs, sending them scattering across the field. [Ed. evidently, the mention of sheep-bothering at Circle Up had planted a seed…]

Bad Cock and Keeps Tripping ignored the direction of the hare and a massive arrow in the road [Ed. easily done…😆] and had to be called back. I don’t know if this was down to them enjoying the hash so much, or their inability to multitask (i.e. run and follow clear directions!).

Dirty Bum Bum took lots of photos on the hash, except that the photos followed the theme of “Where’s the hasher?” as lots of hashers were dressed in yellow and there were lots of fields of OSR in full flower [Ed. ref. photo, below, feat. Boaty (no, really) doing his best to make-like-a-biodiesel-crop] .

It is claimed that Good Shag, Hot Pants & She’s Ready were the only people to follow the correct route for the Longs, but I’m not sure that this is strictly true… However, the same can’t be said for Rusty Bottom, Filth, Squashed Balls & Dragon, who intended to do the Walk and ended up doing nearly 4 miles as they got VERY lost [Ed. top effort!]. They ended up dicing with death and walking over a mile down the A379. Squashed Balls tried to flag them a lift by showing some leg, but this made the drivers speed off in a hurry [Ed. honestly, some people have no compassion these days…Those poor motorists! 😘].

Due to Rusty Bottom getting really lost, Lactaster had a bit of a wait to get into her car as Rusty Bottom had gone off with her car key; after some very speedy getting-changed, in the pub Rizzo remarked on how quick Lactaster can get changed (well what can I say! [Ed. I think probably best to keep that a closely-guarded Lactaster secret 😉🤐]).

Lady Godiva didn’t get changed after the hash very quickly as she had shut herself in the car forgetting that the child locks were on: in a frenzied panic, she had to bang on the window for someone to rescue her [Ed. a tragic example of technology (let’s call it that…) standing between a hasher and their sweet pub-based reward].

On downs were awarded to:
● Undercovers & Nokkers – Hares
● Bad Cock – Inability to follow clear directions
● Dirty Bum Bum – birthday & photos
● ET – returning hasher
● Jyde – nominated?

On on to KINGSBRIDGE
